Overview

How can you maximise the effectiveness of CPD in your school?

This course unpacks the principles of effective adult learning and professional development to help in-school facilitators plan, deliver and refine CPD for optimal impact. Participants will also have an opportunity to apply their learning to CPD training courses from The Key.

The course was developed in partnership with the Teacher Development Trust, a national charity that supports effective professional development in schools.

Audience

This course is aimed at those who facilitate CPD and is suitable for participants from both primary and secondary schools.

It consists of two sessions that can be easily adapted to the timings and needs of your school.

Sessions in detail


Session 1 - The secrets behind the most effective CPD 

Objectives:

  • Connect experiences to the main challenges for delivering effective CPD 
  • Identify features of the most effective CPD 
  • Explore the key ideas behind planning, implementing and following-up the most effective CPD 
Session 2 - Unleashing excellence - putting the ideas to work 
Objectives:

  • Apply the principles of effective professional development to the design and implementation of training sessions
  • Assess delivery skills and identify areas for improvement
