This hands-on course is rich in opportunities to learn what works in other primary settings, practise with real-world tasks and get supportive feedback, as you hone your skills in monitoring and evaluating performance to drive school improvement.

With Jack Stevens

Practise:

  • Asking the right questions of your data, and identifying the headlines
  • Triangulating data and other evidence, so you can really make an impact
  • Taking the right action – what to do and what not to do with your data

    Class 2 will just be for leaders in primary settings, with a forensic focus on using data in a primary context.

Ben Levinson OBE

Ben is director of school and trust improvement and executive headteacher at The Tapscott Learning Trust.

In his leadership roles, he has developed robust processes for evaluating school performance and ensures that school development planning is sharply focused on the areas that will have the most impact on teaching practice and pupil outcomes.

As headteacher, Ben led Kensington Primary School in Newham to win 3 prestigious awards in 2020, including Primary School of the Year.

He is a national leader of education and has sat on several advisory groups and boards aimed at improving the wellbeing of children and education staff.

Jack Stevens

Jack is assistant headteacher at Hillborough Junior School in Luton, where he is also joint lead for data and assessment across the school, maths lead and a year 6 class teacher. As a designated specialist leader of education, he also supports local schools to develop effective monitoring systems.

Jack has recently qualified as an NPQSL-trained coach and mentor, and was an early pioneer and contributor to White Rose Maths, embracing the mastery approach to teaching. You can find him on LinkedIn.
