Data protection officers (DPOs)
This course covers:
This course is designed for new DPOs, such as members of staff who have been newly appointed, or DPOs who haven’t worked in an education setting before. It focuses on the role of the DPO in an education setting, and how to fulfil it. If you’d like to spend more time exploring your responsibilities under the UK GDPR, we recommend you take our ‘UK GDPR for school staff’ course.
We want our training to be a positive experience for all learners. If you have any access needs (for example, a visual impairment or dyslexia), please let us know to see how we can help by contacting [email protected].
If you've completed this course, we'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Our feedback form takes about 3 to 5 minutes to complete.
Our thanks to Louise Redfern and Luke Mulhall for their help in developing this course.
There’s lots of new information to absorb now that you’ve taken on the role of data protection officer (DPO). Download our ‘cheat sheet’ to help you remember the key UK GDPR principles, deadlines and definitions
Use our template to make sure you’re giving your governors all the information they need to know about data protection and your school’s compliance with the UK GDPR.
