Manual handling for school staff
Use this 30-minute course to help your staff feel confident in carrying out those smaller, occasional manual handling tasks that might come up in their role – whether they’re teaching, support or admin staff.
Who it's for
All staff
This course covers:
- What manual handling is
- What smaller, occasional manual handling tasks look like in school
- How staff can use the TILE framework to do a quick mental check before carrying out any manual handling
- How to use safe handling techniques
This course is designed for school staff who might need to carry out smaller, occasional manual handling tasks as part of their role – for example, teachers carrying books home or a member of support staff carrying a box of supplies to the classroom.
It’s not aimed at staff who will be carrying out heavier, regular manual handling, such as premises management staff, as these members of staff will require additional, specialist training.
We want our training to be a positive experience for all learners. If you have any access needs (for example, a visual impairment or dyslexia), please let us know to see how we can help by contacting [email protected].
We'd love to hear your feedback
